A New and Exciting Region is Opening - by Xenon Darrow

After many months of planning, design, and building; The Rendezvous is ready to open! This adult playground is made up of two new connected 2x2 regions - Rendezvous and Rendezvous 2.

The Rendezvous is a foray into the adult aspects of virtual world living. This is a part of our humanity and social construct. We see it all over virtual worlds. There are some activity positive sims on the Hypergrid, but it is challenging to find one with a distinctive focus on frisky fun and designed for far reaching inclusiveness. 

The Rendezvous is just that. The brainchild of Cataplexia Numbers; the Rendezvous is positive, encouraging, and celebratory of all aspects and activities of the human form. Planned and designed with loving care by me, Xenon Darrow, and designed and built with amazing expertise by Chris McCracken, with stellar contributions from Chris Dayellis, Whisper Carfield, Ted Junior, Lilie Finesmith, April McKenna and likely even more; the Rendezvous is fun, inviting, and leaves little to the imagination - but encourages everything to happen right there in the cerebral cortex! After all - the best stuff happens in the brain, right?

One unique aspect of the Rendezvous is that it is designed with real life concerns in mind. Relying on consulting from HG members with extensive real world experience and expertise in alternative lifestyle communities, the Rendezvous mixes the ultimate fantasy with realistic expectations and practices. 

There are a few things to note: The Rendezvous is adult, adult appearance, and adult play only. Consent is the only supremacy; NO means NO, NO exceptions. It is inclusive - all genders and gender identities, orientations, and preference are welcome in all areas. That being said, we have tried to create some areas to cater to possible preferences. 

There are currently two major areas in The Rendezvous - the beaches and the fantasy roleplay area. (Not to be redundant; after all, isn’t it all fantasy?) The beach resort makes up ¾ of the combined regions.

The beaches are made up of two islands: The Rendezvous 1 Beach and the Rendezvous 2 Beach. There is a large bay separating the islands that is swimming, diving, and boating friendly. Rendezvous 1 Beach tends to have more pan-oriented activities, though there is nothing preventing anyone from playing. There is also Pleasure Plateau, an area designated for more stringent alternative play. While all play is encouraged everywhere, more corporal play is best confined to Pleasure Plateau, until you get to the fantasy roleplay areas. 

On the Rendezvous 1 beach, you will find some semi private cabanas on one end of the island. Keep in mind, all activities in all areas of the Rendezvous are available to those who enjoy watching. Some of them may give you an illusion of privacy, but that doesn’t mean some little peeping Tom isn’t using their camera to enjoy the show. Make it worth their efforts! 

There are four raised striped cabanas that have teleports to skyboxes. There will be a notice when the skybox is occupied, but we cannot assure you that someone won’t pop in. Two of the skyboxes are themed, and the other two are more…traditional, in some regards. You will just have to see for yourself. On the ground, there is a cabana retreat with a lagoon and waterfall  in the center of the island. Just past that is a campfire with seats, and beyond that, a palapa with a hot tub on the ground floor, seating, and a small dance floor above. 

Across the bay, you will encounter more of a focus on LGBTQIA activities - the Shores of Manly Delights and Sapphos Beach. Again, all are welcome; there are no restrictions, only the understanding and consent to respect what people are enjoying. You may get to the other island by teleporting, swimming, boating, or walking across the connecting piers between a series of small islands, with lovely semi-private cabins with a focus on our loving sisters and their activities. By the way, watch your step: those piers haven’t been maintained very well…and where it looks like there are holes in the boards, there are! You will get wet in a different way that you may have intended. 

As you cross the last connecting pier, you will know you are on Sapphos Beach by the fountain you are greeted by as you enter the island. You will just have to come see for yourself. Let’s simply say that the island has many landscaping efforts celebrating the human body. 

Sapphos Beach has many lovely and elegant elements, including two semi private cabanas for the discerning couples…or threesomes…or many many more. As you make your way to the other end of the beach, you will know when you have made it to the Shores of Manly Delights, as there is a large rainbow "statue" with a shooting fountain and a cannon! It’s a fun ride, and may take you all the way across the regions depending on how much tension has built up!

This section of the beach is definitely all about sexual fun! It’s a romp, with a small tiki bathhouse, the public bathrooms, the octopus float, and the campground. During our tour the other day, we had an entire entourage of squealing giggling women hop onto the animations at the Shores of Manly Delights. Go figure! Again, all are welcome! 

The large dance club is also located on the Rendezvous 2 beach, where there will be regular Nekkid DJ sets and other entertainment. 

Behind the Rendezvous 1 island is the fantasy rp area. This is dedicated to medieval, fae, pirate, and related roleplay. There is a medieval village on one side, overlooked by the dark and foreboding castle and the garden. The commoners seem pleasant enough, until you realize they are filthy heathens into all manner of questionable things. And they despise the pirates and live in terror of mythical creatures. They have all manner of devices to deal with these despised groups and each other!

Finally, across a small body of water from the village and castle is the pirate haven! One of the central areas is the auction platform. This is reserved for those unlucky villagers that happen to be captured. Or for other pirates. Or whomever! What is a pirate haven without a bit of auction fun! Get drunk and do something ridiculous? Auctioned! Lose a greedy game? Auctioned! Take a nap? Auctioned! 

Finally, there is an enchanted forest with wicked fae just beyond the pirate haven. You will see the entrance marked by a Tree of Justice. But how much justice is there in a pirate haven, really? If someone is especially displeased with you, you may end up there. And once they have softened you up a bit, they call to the spirits of the forest to steal you away and take you to pleasures…and pain…unknown. If you wander into the forest, ensure you do not become beguiled, enthralled, or even hunted in the Great Hunt! Unless, of course, that is what you crave. 

There are currently other projects in the works for the Rendezvous. We are designing and building a truly gritty urban area, including the slimiest strip clubs and shops you could ever want - catering to all orientations, gay leather clubs and bathhouses, biker clubs, a seedy central park, a church, Fantasy University (aka FU), and a burned out slum. My personal goal for this area is that I want people to immediately want to go take a shower because they feel itchy, but are overwhelmed with a desire to explore the darker fun. 

A connecting residential region is already in the works, so those of you wishing to rent a place that is part of the Rendezvous lifestyle may get just that in the not too distant future! 

The grand opening of Rendezvous is on May 28th at 11 am grid time! We would love to see you there appropriately attired…or not?
